This will ensure that you are automatically logged in on the desktop as well, and that the devices are paired.
Tip: If already logged in, you will have to logout from Augnito on your desktop to view the QR Code that can be scanned from your smartphone. Once you do this, you will be logged back in, the devices will be paired, and the Augnito Mobile Mic app is ready to use.
Selecting Your Speech Model
Menu > Smart Editor
Once you have successfully logged in for the first time, go to the Menu (top right) and click on Speech Model to select your preference. You can change your selection at any point from the same option field if required. In case you forget to select a speech model, and start dictating, Augnito will automatically prompt you to do the same, via the screen below.
Medical Specialty
You can select the appropriate specialty for your use case. If you do not see your specialty specifically mentioned in the options, please select General Medicine as it encompasses a comprehensive medical vocabulary.

- Indian English: South Asian Accents
- Standard English: Global Accents
Spelling

- UK sp: British Standard Spellings (ex: anaemia, gynaecology, haemoglobin)
Audio Settings
Menu > Audio Settings
This page is used to adjust the configuration of your audio input.
Details are as follows –
- Audio Source: In case your system has multiple audio input options such as Bluetooth, auxiliary ports, and the default mic—you can select which device Augnito will use.
- Microphone Level: This indicates the current audio levels. It will change as you speak louder or softer, closer to the mic, or further. This is just representative and cannot be manually adjusted.
Suppress Background Noise: Use this option to subdue background noise, in case you are working in a noisy environment.
Smart Editor
The Smart Editor is Augnito’s in-built text editor featuring several advanced speech-based editing functionalities.
<image>
Tip: The Smart Editor on the Augnito Web application has a default, hidden dictation or cursor focus feature—which enables you to view images, old reports, and more, on a different window or tab while continuing to dictate to Augnito.
Once dictation is complete, you can either download a copy of the report or save it on the cloud server.
Templates
Menu > Templates
Template Settings
Augnito also enables you to create, add, and remove predefined templates for standard documentation—such as SOAP notes, imaging reports, discharge summaries, etc. There is no limit to how many templates you can upload.
Additionally, the templates also come with a smart retrieval system. You can simply insert the right template if you know the full name that it has been saved as. However, if not, you can dictate the probable name, followed by the term “Template” and Augnito will narrow down the search to the optimal results. You can then simply double-click a template to open it.
Template List
Once templates have been uploaded, you can simply say “Show Template List” and then select the appropriate one from the full template list by calling out the corresponding serial number. You can also search for the template manually and double-click on the file to open it.
Macros
Menu > Macros
Augnito enables you to save, edit, and maintain macros. Macros are short sentences or longer paragraphs of text that are used frequently. Rather than dictating them repeatedly, you can simply insert a macro. All you have to do is read out the macro’s name as you have saved it, and the corresponding text is produced in the editor, including all the pre-saved formatting. There is no limit to how many macros you can
save.
The process of adding a new macro is showcased below:
- The ‘Macro Name’ is the speech command you wish to use to insert the desired text.
- The ‘Macro Text’ is the text that you wish to insert when the macro name is spoken.
- Click on ‘Add’, once you have entered the macro name and macro text in your preferred format.
- To edit an existing macro: Click on the edit button (square with pencil) next to the specific macro. Once you do this, you can modify the existing macro name or macro text and then click on ‘Save’.
Vocabulary
Menu > Vocabulary
This setting is used to add new vocabulary. It helps optimize your system for better dictation output. You can fill in details like the spelling and pronunciation, as well as record an audio version of the term to train your system to recognize it better. This is where you add new words, drug names, proper nouns, and formatting options to
Augnito.
Below is a representation of the Vocabulary page.
Formatting Preferences
Menu Formatting > Preferences
You can simply fill in the current formatting and expected formatting of a word or phrase in the corresponding boxes to modify the way Augnito interprets it. You can also edit the expected formatting multiple times by clicking on the edit button.
